The mountain ranges of Western Himalayas in Kullu-Manali region attract thousands of trekking enthusiasts and mountaineers from not only the country but all over the world. While some go for the higher peaks, others like to do treks that don’t involve technical climbing or some prior training.

In Kullu-Manali, there are many treks having difficulty level categorized as ‘easy, moderate, tough’ and can be done by all medically-fit people. Most of these treks are in the Parvati valley and the Kullu valley.

Being a professional mountain guide, I have done all of these treks several times and always enjoyed while being out there. Malana trek starts from Rumsu village near Naggar, a heritage village known for its castle and the Roerich Art Gallery, takes you to the middle of the forests, up to the snowy mountain tops and finally down to the Malana village whose natives are said to be the inhabitants of none other than Alexander the Great. As you can see, this trek is quite a loaded package of wonderful things!
