Desi Ghee
Is desi cow ghee an aphrodisiac?
According to Ayurveda, desi ghee also acts like an aphrodisiac and fires up sex drive. Here is what all Ayurveda has to say about sex, women, aphrodisiacs and desi ghee.
The right age for sex
So, what is the right age for sex? When you are neither too young nor too old to do it.
According to Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, you should not have intercourse with a woman if you are below 16 years of age or above 70 years of age.
Why so? Here is the explanation.
According to Charaka Samhita, one of the oldest surviving texts on Ayurveda, a man, too young and having immature dhatus, dries up quickly like a pond with little water when he has intercourse with a woman.
In Ayurveda, dhatus mean tissues or the principal elements of a body that support the structure and functioning of the body. There are seven dhatus or saptadhatus: Rasa (lymph), Rakta (blood), Mamsa (muscles), Medha (fat), Asthi (bone), Majja (bone and spinal) and Shukra (semen).
Similarly, an old man, if he has intercourse with a woman, shatters quickly like a wooden piece on touch as the semen gets diminished by old age due to anxiety, diseases, and sexual indulgence.
Four types of men
According to Ayurveda, not all men who have physical strength are sexually potent too. They are weak in women though they possess big body and strength. On the other hand, there are persons with small stature, weak and debilitated by disease but much more potent with women and get numerous offspring.
The Charaka Samhita says that “some men have intercourse with women frequently like sparrows but others can’t do so and discharge profusely like elephants.”
According to Ayurveda, there are four types of men:
- Men who get strength according to seasons.
- Men who get strength by practice.
- Men who get strength by aphrodisiacs.
- Men who are potent like bulls by nature.
Advising that a man should have progeny, the Charaka Samhita goes on to say that a man without offspring is like a tree with only one branch — shadeless and fruitless. But the man having progeny is like one having numerous forms, faces actions and eyes.
And the one who desires indestructible semen, sexual strength of a bull, potency, progeny and sexual pleasure should use aphrodisiacs daily, says Ayurveda.
What is aphrodisiac?
There are two types of therapies mentioned in Charaka Samhita — first, that promotes strength and immunity and the second, that alleviates disorders.
The Ayurveda branches that promote strength and immunity come under Vrsya (aphrodisiac) and Rasayana (promotive treatment).
And the aphrodisiac treatment is called Vajikarana.
According to Charaka Samhita, “Vajikarana produces quick sexual stimulation, enables one to perform sexual acts with women uninterruptedly and vigorously like a horse, makes one charming for the women, and creates infallible and indestructible semen even in the old persons.”
Aphrodisiac is that which “potentiates a man to have sex with a woman like a horse and increases sustenance in the same.” Aphrodisiacs enables a man to have sex with a woman for as long as he desires and attains progeny quickly. By the use of aphrodisiac, a man is strengthened, gets sexually excited like a horse, and penetrates the penis fully into the female organ, says the Charaka Samhita.
Hence, the one who desires progeny and sexual pleasure should use aphrodisiacs regularly.
What is the best aphrodisiac?
The Ayurveda says that one should use aphrodisiacs regularly but the best aphrodisiac of them all is the exhilarating woman. A woman, who is beautiful, youthful, endowed with auspicious features and trained is the best aphrodisiac. A woman who has amorous movements and enters into the heart quickly, separating from her one feels restless, on finding ger one gets solace. A woman with whom one does not get satisfied even after frequent intercourse is the best aphrodisiac.
The Charaka Samhita says that all the pleasure-giving sense objects are in the body of a woman.
“The sense objects are even separately exceedingly pleasant and what to be said of the female body where they are stationed collectively. The sense objects located in a woman are more pleasure giving as there is special pleasure in women,” says the Charaka Samhita.
And a man who desires progeny should go to a woman, who belongs to a different clan, is stimulating, exhilarating and free from complications.
Desi ghee as aphrodisiac
The Charaka Samhita that a man, who takes his diet with ghee and milk, behaves always like a bull with women. In Ayurveda, there are various types of Vajikarana Ghrta or aphrodisiac desi ghee, which promote semen and strength. Most of these formulations have ghee as the main ingredient and provide sexual pleasure and promote potency and progeny.
In these formulations, herbs, plants, and other ingredients are used with desi ghee and milk and honey to create the strength-promoting aphrodisiacs. There are 42 formulations for creating aphrodisiacs in Charaka Samhita alone. But even without adding any ingredients, desi ghee made of cow milk in itself acts as a great aphrodisiac. Some of the aphrodisiac ghee types without too many ingredients are:
*A man who consumes 10 gm powder of Madhuka plant mixed in desi ghee and honey with milk becomes continuously impelled with sexual urge.
*Ghee prepared with Shatavari plant and honey is excellent aphrodisiac.
*Payasa rice with plenty of ghee and other ingredients is aphrodisiac.
*One becomes sexually like a bull if he uses Sastika rice, mixed in plenty of ghee, sugar and honey, and with milk.
*One who takes milk after eating boiled Sastika rice with plenty of ghee along with black gram soup remains awakened with sexual impulse the whole night.
What is Shilajit
Ayurveda has called Shilajit an aphrodisiac that alleviates diseases. The Charaka Samhita says that Shilajit provides great energy and that “there is no disease in the world which is not overcome by Shilajit.”
According to Ayurveda, the mountainous ores of metals, when heated for long time by the rays of sun, excrete soft, smooth material like lac, it is called Shilajit or Silajatu. Shilajit originates from four metals — gold, silver, copper and iron — having different taste and properties:
*Shilajit obtained from gold ore is sweet, slightly bitter and having colour like Japa flower (hibiscus).
*Shilajit obtained from silver ore is pungent, white and cold.
*Shilajit obtained from copper ore is like a peacock’s neck, bitter and hot.
*Shilajit obtained from iron ore is like gugguluka (Commiphora wightii), bitter and slightly saline. It is the best of all Shilajit.
What is sexually exhilarating?
A man gets stimulated by a massage, rubbing, bath, perfumes, garlands, adorations, comfortable house, untorn favourite clothes, chirping of birds, tickling of women’s ornaments, gentle pressing of the body by favourite women etc.
Ayurveda says that fragrance of flowers, nights with moonlights, blossomed orchards, blue mountain tops, pleasant company, good food and drinks, music, young age, intoxicating time — all are excellent sources of sexual exhilaration.
Final advice
Driven by urge and exhilarated by woman, a man should have sex after having consumed aphrodisiac. After sexual intercourse, one should take bath, have milk or meat soup and then go to sleep. In this way semen and strength are replenished, says the Charaka Samhita.
